DPFs can clog up if a diesel does mostly short journeys, leaving warning lights, loss of power and limp-home mode. The fix depends on how blocked it is. Cleaning is sometimes possible and is much cheaper than a new DPF, but if the filter is genuinely damaged it needs replacing. We will tell you honestly which it is.
